I love Creating!! Growing up, I would be the last person to tell you that I was an artistic individual. I liked art, but didn't feel that I was 'talented '. Around the age of 15, due to hormonal imbalances, I developed anxiety and panic attacks. I spent the next several years just going through the moments and surviving through.

In my mid twenties, a friend invited me to a painting party at her place. I politely declined. I like things to be done in a specific way (the right way) and in an orderly fashion.

Scrapbooking was something I enjoyed because before anything was glued down and permanent, I had everything laid out and organized. I knew painting was not like this. My friend would not take no for an answer. I went and was talked into painting with everyone. It was a stressful evening as I didn't know what I was doing or what the result would be. Once I had settled into the evening, I found myself enjoying the mental escape and peace I felt while painting. In the end, I loved my painting! I decided I needed to implement painting into my life. I immediately noticed that painting caused my anxiety to dissipate. It became a part of my mental wellness therapy.

Side note: Several years earlier, at a women's conference, I was making a scrapbook page. A dear friend looked at it and said, 'Veronica's Visions'. Painting at my friend's house, this is when Veronica's Visions began.

I enjoy change in life and I get bored easily. Even though I still enjoyed painting, I needed to add to my repertoire of experiences. I then began to take nature photos. I got to capture the beauty around me. After a handful of years, people around me started to ask where I was selling my art. I then signed up for the Fernie Mountain Market and Craft Fairs! I have been selling my art now since 2012. In 2014, I had someone approach me in the market asking if I taught paint classes... the next chapter of Veronica's Visions was started. I run Paint Date events for adult and children, ages 3+. I have loved being able to share my love of creating with others as well as seeing the surprise and delight on the faces of those who identified themselves as not artistic... as I once did!

Creating is a time where I can let go of everything going on in the world around me and I can just be!
